BRIGHTSIDE OF A THIRD-WORLD

This afternoon I took a nap and I woke up at 4 in the afternoon. I felt hungry so I went outside the house and went to our canteen to have my usual "Merienda" (snack) routine. It was also the dismissal of classes of a nearby public school. As I sat on the front bench of our canteen, I saw a man, maybe a father, fetching his children... On a single motorcycle...his 4 children. Imagine riding a small cheap-quality motorcycle with 5 passengers it's like a capacity of an average car. They look tired and struggling riding one by one on a single moto. But despite these hardships and hassles they tackle everyday, you can see their smiling faces and a mark of optimism written all over their smiles :)

That's what I like being a Filipino. Whatever we face, may it be a natural disaster or poverty. We never forget the optimism and the smiles while always looking at the brightside of life :)
