I saw something cool while browsing for bicycles and stuff and saw this pretty neat thing, the Gravity Bike.
What is a Gravity Bike? A Gravity Bike or a G-Bike is basically a bicycle aerodynamically designed to run on pretty steep downhill roads/courses powered only by the push of gravity. These bad boys can run from 60-100 kph. Cool eh?
Here are some images of what a Gravity bike looks like:
I would like to try and ride these kind of bikes someday. Unfortunately, I have no idea if there's actually someone or a group of people here in the Philippines who rides these things. All I see riding downhill roads are the ones with the longboards and Racer/Track Bikes.
As a cyclist/biker a helmet is a must for protection and safety especially when you're out riding everyday wether you're out in the woods/mountains with your mountain bike, pulling off tricks with your BMX bike, taking up highways on high speed with a racer bike or going around the city with your fixed gear bike, a helmet is a must. I know some of you are too lazy to wear helmets because it's pretty dull, bulky and looks boring. In my opinion for helmets. The first priority is ofcourse, the quality and protection it can provide BUT not losing it's appeal in terms of design and appearance. Who would want to wear a boring and sometimes, stupid looking helmets, right? So let me cut the chase. I was browsing and searching on the internet for some bike apparels and I stumbled upon these cool helmets from Bell, the helmet manufacturer. The Faction Urban Helmets. These helmets has crazy designs and playful colors and I'm sure it can give enough protection and quality because Bell made it. For those who are not familiar with Bell. Bell is a helmet manufacturing company that makes helmets for almost any sport that requires a helmet. ( motorcycles, bikes, boards and etc) Okay, back to what I'm saying earlier. Ugh.. Nevermind. Just look at these image and you'll know why I want a Faction Helmet from Bell. Aww I want the Paul Frank design helmet :) Check the Bell's official website for more products and designs.
Oh! I haven't been able to update my blog! I'm busy watching new series of animes for the fall season! And also, The Walking Dead season 03 has been released too! Not to mention there are several good movies too! So yeah, I'll be back shortly after I watched all of these good stuffs!
Maybe If I'm in the mood, I'll be blogging about it and try to write short reviews of the shows and movies :)
For many years, it has been a tradition of my family to go to Our Lady of Mount Carmel church in Lipa City Batangas to hear a mass every first Saturday of the month. This place is also known for the Apparition and miracles of mother Mary.
I took some photos yesterday:
Sorry for the crappy image quality, I took this photos with my old Sony Ericsson C510 and spiced up the images with Adobe PS CS3.
Are you one of those people who has an old Apple iDevice such as an iPod Touch 1st to 3rd Generation models? An iPhone 1st Generation or the 2nd Generation EDGE iPhone? An iPhone 3G?
Planning to shelve them out because they are old, outdated and unproductive anymore? Well, think twice. There's still hope :)
I have a 1st generation iPod Touch and I still use it today, working perfectly and nearly as fast as an iPhone 3GS not bad eh? How did I do it? Okay, I'll tell you. I discovered a customized iOS firmware for old devices that looks exactly as an iOS 5 but I was skeptical at first because we all know that early generation devices of iPods and iPhones are not compatible with the latest firmwares. So I searched thoroughly on the internet on the said "iOS5 for old devices" after endless research, I found that iOS5-like custom firmware and it's called Whited00r. I'm a bit nervous trying it out at first because it's my first time to install that kind of firmware. I noticed that the process is the same as jailbreaking (before trying this out, I've successfully jailbroken an iPhone and an iPad 2). After following the installation process, It was a flawless success!
So I tried it out and played with it. It was wayyy freaking awesome! It looks exactly like an iOS5 device. The performance and speed? Yes, It DRASTICALLY IMPROVED and added iOS5-like features such as icloud and newstand. It's suprisingly fast as hell but unfortunately, it only runs on iOS 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 as I said earlier, It only looks like an iOS5. I highly recommend running Whited00r on old Apple idevices.
With the release of iOS6, I hope there will be some new updates on Whited00r too :)
Here's a photo of my iPod running on Whited00r:
My iPod running on Whited00r. I also installed Whited00r on my GF's iPhone. too bad I don't have a photo of it.
For more info, there's also a video on speed comparison with a 3GS, check out the Whited00r website here: http://www.whited00r.com/
I apologize for my bad english and for the errors on my posts. Too lazy to proofread :)
Do you love riding bicycles and you love drifting too? Well, you're in luck cos these two worlds just collided in one sport. Let me introduce to you, Trike Drifting. I know it sounds a bit silly. Remember the three-wheeled bikes for kids? Yes, you use those to drift. The trikes were converted and fabricated to become a bad ass three-wheeled drift machine. It's installed with slick, wide rear wheels usually made from pvc pipes.
It is powered by gravity by going downhill and combines momentum to initiate a drift.
Here are some images of a Drift Trike:
So what do you think of this bad boys? Cool isn't it? Aww I want to build one too! Oh, here's a video of Drift Trikes in action :
For more info about Drift Trikes and Trike Drifting, search the net to see tons of images and videos about this cool sport :) The images and videos used in this post belongs to their respective owners. I don not own any of these.
I'm a biking enthusiast and I've been riding a bike for several years now. It's really a nice form of transportation because it saves a lot of money and a good exercise for the body. Okay, let's make it short. I created this post to share with you a specific kind of bike which I'm planning to build.
Have you ever heard of Fixed-Gear Bicycles? or commonly called as a "fixie". A fixie is a bike which has only a single speed and has no freewheel because the pedals are constantly moving when the bike is in motion. A good example of a Fixie is the bicycles used in Olympics inside the Velodrome. The Fixie has no brakes. So, how do you stop it? The only form that you can slow down or stop the bike is by countering the pedals motion in order to slow down or make a skid. It's easier to brake the fixie when you use clipless pedals to pull the pedals while reducing the weight distribution on the rear wheel.
Fixed-gear bicycles has been around for ages. I think it's the basic and first structure of a bicycle before the ones with freewheel and shifters. But recently, it's popularity are rising especially on urban areas.
I like how minimalist the design of modern fixies these days with a mix of stylish and playful colors. It's been widely known that fixies are often used by Bike messengers in New York and hipsters in cities.
Here's an example of a modern fixie with stylish minimalist design with playful colors:
Oh, speaking of bicycles. Have you watched the movie Premium Rush? Starring Joseph Gordon Levitt It's just been released recently. It's a must watch for avid bikers/cyclists. Get ready to see some awesome, adrenaline-pumping riding skills!

Admit it, Almost everyone of us imagined a Zombie outbreak. Thou you can visualize it as a cool, exciting hack and slash, point and shoot fest. The question is, will you survive this best end of the world scenario? How long will you last?
Here's a few tips for you to survive:
Image from Wikipedia.org
Find a secure place where you can store enough supplies and can defend you against zombies and looters who will try to steal your supplies and worst, can also kill you. This is inevitable. Not only zombies lose their humanity for some instances, other people.
Avoid using ballistic weapons as much as you can. Gunshot sounds can attract other zombies on your location. Use it when badly needed. Plus, it's a must to save ammo cos it's limited. Instead, try using melee weapons such as baseball bats, crowbars and etc. and always remember, go for the head.
Wear light weight clothing as much as possible but keep in mind the you need enough protection from bites and scratches the zombies can inflict you.
If you need to go to in one place to another, use a vehicle that emits less noise as much as possible. If not, atleast ride one with enough protection and can't be easily destroyed or flipped over.
Keep hydrated and eat. and always bear in mind the famous rule from Zombie Land, "Cardio" because there's gonna be a lot of running and jumping when an outbreak starts.
I have read a zombie survival guide entitledThe Zombie Survival Guidewritten by an American author Max Brooks. It was fully detailed with in-depth guide and how to's that I actually thought for a second that an outbreak was going to happen. If you're an avid zombie fan. This book is a must read :)
In my entire life, It's the first time I had this terrible feeling inside my mouth and yes, I have a toothache!
I have been going through this pain for about 2 weeks now. Wondering why I'm still not visiting the dentist? It's because I'm really scared to go to a doctor. Because when I was a child, I often go to the doctor because I have a weak body and it somewhat traumatize me a little. Anyway, I know that sooner or later, I will go to the dentist cos in a more few days the pain will be unbearable. For now I took Mefenamic Acid for a temporary relief. But for those of you who are suffering from a terrible toothache too and does not want to take any medication for relief, here are some alternatives to soothe your pain:
Salt Water: Mix a heaping spoonful of salt in a small glass of lukewarm to warm water, swoosh around inside your mouth for as long as you can, spit out. Repeat a couple times.
Cloves: This is an old timer’s remedy, rest a clove against the sore area until pain goes away. You can also use a drop or two of clove oil (too much can be toxic) or make a thick paste of ground cloves and water or ground cloves and olive oil.
Alcohol: Swoosh a bit of whiskey, scotch, brandy or vodka. A strong mouthwash that contains alcohol will do the trick too.
Hydrogen Peroxide: Swoosh a bit of hydrogen peroxide. If the taste is too horrid for you, try diluting with a bit of water.
Vanilla Extract: Saturate a cotton ball with vanilla and hold in place. Can also use a cotton swab dipped in extract. fromtipnut.com

I stumbled upon this you Youtube channel called "Simple Pickup" these guys are the masters of picking up girls. I tried to watch their videos and it was fucking hilarious and so amazing at the same time! Their pick up lines cracked me up. The awesome thing about these guys is whatever scenario they're into, (They disguised as gays, disabled, nerd and so on and so forth) they always find a way to pickup girls and get their number. Trust me, they're masters in what they do.
Fishballs, Kikiam and breaded-"Dugo ng Manok" (Chicken's blood)
In southeast Asian countries street foods are a common sight.
In the Philippines, It's almost everywhere. What do these carts with motorcycle/bikes sell?
Street foods comes in a wide range of variety from deep fried-breaded Quail eggs to grilled Chicken feet. The list goes on and on as long as it's cheap, edible and easy to cook, Filipinos has a creative way of cooking it.
The viral video/song "Gangnam Style" of the South Korean singer/songwriter/rapper PSY holds the Guiness record for the most liked video on Youtube. Amazing isn't it? The power of communication thru internet to spread contents all over the world. Until now, I don't know what Oppa Ganganm Style means. haha.
So, the money making, Galaxy smashing iPhone 5 was finally released huh? Okay what's new with iPhone 5?
As far as I know it has.
A6 Chip
8MP Camera
iOS 6
Comes in Black, White and Silver
HD photo and video recording 1080p/720p
Longer screen
A bit thinner that the previous iPhone models
New USB connector
It has longer lasting battery than the previous models
In my opinion, the iPhone 5 is just like a 4S with very little improvement and changes but I'm pretty sure that Apple A6 chip packs a punch and much more powerful than the iPad oh, and the camera, we're talking about a whopping 1080p HD!
I'm not expressing hate on this device, it's just that it's not very appealing to me.
I think this is one of the simplest yet the sweetest marriage proposal that I've ever seen :)
He even asked Up Dharma Down to sing for them. Awwwww-esome :)
If you know or actually played Assassin's Creed games. You can relate and appreciate this video clip.
Many people show dislikes/hate in this video but in my opinion, this is wayyy too cool! This is something you do not see everyday! A perfect fusion of parkour/freerunning and cosplaying :)

Earlier this afternoon, I went to Cut Unlimited salon to get my haircut. I was amazed cos they're one of the salon that can actually make my hair styled into a layered form. After my haircut, I went to my girlfriend for my daily visit :"> and then she said she has something to give me. She said it was her late birthday gift for me and yeah, it was an Urbanears Bagis. I like it so much because I badly need a new earphones for my other iPods :) I'll take good care of it! It has a good sound quality too! Just what I want for an earphone. She also gave me an Urbanears Plattan last chrismtas as a gift and I still use that. Such a great headphone to satisfy my hunger for quality listening of music :) Here's a photo of the Bagis.
This afternoon I took a nap and I woke up at 4 in the afternoon. I felt hungry so I went outside the house and went to our canteen to have my usual "Merienda" (snack) routine. It was also the dismissal of classes of a nearby public school. As I sat on the front bench of our canteen, I saw a man, maybe a father, fetching his children... On a single motorcycle...his 4 children. Imagine riding a small cheap-quality motorcycle with 5 passengers it's like a capacity of an average car. They look tired and struggling riding one by one on a single moto. But despite these hardships and hassles they tackle everyday, you can see their smiling faces and a mark of optimism written all over their smiles :)
That's what I like being a Filipino. Whatever we face, may it be a natural disaster or poverty. We never forget the optimism and the smiles while always looking at the brightside of life :)
Okay, so almost everyday for most of the time, I wear earphones/headphones and there can't be a day where you can't find people wearing one. They're almost everywhere, audiophiles.
So speaking of audiophiles, whatever your preference in music, it all comes to this: sound quality. Yeah sound quality, you can download or purchase, convert songs in any bit rate (kbps) you want but what I'm talking about is the hardware capacity of your earphones :)
What to look on an earphones you say?
It has to have a good sound quality ofcourse.
Stylish, These days earphones are not just an object for listening. It's a fashion statement.
Price. Everyone wants to have a quality sound but as affordable as it can be.
I think the right headphones/earphones that fits the above requirements is the Plattan from Urbanears.
Why do I think it's the right one with all of the said requirements?
Good sound quality - It has very good sound quality a perfect balance of crisp detailed sound of treble and bass.
Style - In terms of looks, It's design is a mix of minimalism and vintage-like style. Simple as that.
Price - With the quality of this headphones it's price is suprisingly lower that it's competitors. A low price for a high quality headphones.
I have one of these and in my opinion, it's one of the best headphones out there :)
Here's a video preview of Urbanears Plattan.
For the full specifications of Plattan, visit their site for more details and also check out other Urbanears earphones/headphones. They have a wide range of products to choose from :)

Today is the birth of my newly-created Blogger site :) Yey! This post serves as an "Icebreaker" between me and my blog (just to fill-in the emptiness of my blog).
Let me introduce myself first. My name is Gelo Cabrera.. Ugh.. Okay! Enough of this introduction! I suck at this haha.
I currently have no idea what to post on my blog. It may take some time for me to make my site a well established one because even I have so much ideas running through my head and itching to share and post. Usually, procrastinating gets a good grip around my neck.
I'll try my very best to update this blog and share things that caught my interests. I will post random stuffs that I want and try to share with the world. (even thou no one cares)
This is the end of my uuhmm.. introduction speech or prologue or whatever you can call this kind of blabbering.
