Bell Faction Urban Bike Helmet

As a cyclist/biker a helmet is a must for protection and safety especially when you're out riding everyday wether you're out in the woods/mountains with your mountain bike, pulling off tricks with your BMX bike, taking up highways on high speed with a racer bike or going around the city with your fixed gear bike, a helmet is a must. I know some of you are too lazy to wear helmets because it's pretty dull, bulky and looks boring. In my opinion for helmets. The first priority is ofcourse, the quality and protection it can provide BUT    not losing it's appeal in terms of design and appearance. Who would want to wear a boring and sometimes, stupid looking helmets, right? So let me cut the chase. I was browsing and searching on the internet for some bike apparels and I stumbled upon these cool helmets from Bell, the helmet manufacturer. The Faction Urban Helmets. These helmets has crazy designs and playful colors and I'm sure it can give enough protection and quality because Bell made it. For those who are not familiar with Bell. Bell is a helmet manufacturing company that makes helmets for almost any sport that requires a helmet. ( motorcycles, bikes, boards and etc)  Okay, back to what I'm saying earlier. Ugh.. Nevermind. Just look at these image and you'll know why I want a Faction Helmet from Bell. Aww I want the Paul Frank design helmet :) Check the Bell's official website for more products and designs.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines

For many years, it has been a tradition of my family to go to Our Lady of Mount Carmel church in Lipa City Batangas to hear a mass every first Saturday of the month. This place is also known for the Apparition and miracles of mother Mary.

I took some photos yesterday:

Sorry for the crappy image quality, I took this photos with my old Sony Ericsson C510 and spiced up the images with Adobe PS CS3.

Breathe new life, open a door for your old Apple iDevices.

Are you one of those people who has an old Apple iDevice such as an iPod Touch 1st to 3rd Generation models? An iPhone 1st Generation or the 2nd Generation EDGE iPhone? An iPhone 3G?
Planning to shelve them out because they are old, outdated and unproductive anymore? Well, think twice. There's still hope :)

I have a 1st generation iPod Touch and I still use it today, working perfectly and nearly as fast as an iPhone 3GS not bad eh? How did I do it? Okay, I'll tell you. I discovered a customized iOS firmware for old devices that looks exactly as an iOS 5 but I was skeptical at first because we all know that early generation devices of iPods and iPhones are not compatible with the latest firmwares. So I searched thoroughly on the internet on the said "iOS5 for old devices" after endless research, I found that iOS5-like custom firmware and it's called Whited00r. I'm a bit nervous trying it out at first because it's my first time to install that kind of firmware. I noticed that the process is the same as jailbreaking (before trying this out, I've successfully jailbroken an iPhone and an iPad 2). After following the installation process, It was a flawless success!
So I tried it out and played with it. It was wayyy freaking awesome! It looks exactly like an iOS5 device. The performance and speed? Yes, It DRASTICALLY IMPROVED and added iOS5-like features such as icloud and newstand. It's suprisingly fast as hell but unfortunately, it only runs on iOS 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 as I said earlier, It only looks like an iOS5. I highly recommend running Whited00r on old Apple idevices.
With the release of iOS6, I  hope there will be some new updates on Whited00r too :)

Here's a photo of my iPod running on Whited00r:

My iPod running on Whited00r. I also installed Whited00r on my GF's iPhone. too bad I don't have a photo of it.

For more info, there's also a video on speed comparison with a 3GS, check out the Whited00r website here: http://www.whited00r.com/

I apologize for my bad english and for the errors on my posts. Too lazy to proofread :)

Going downhill with...Trikes?

Do you love riding bicycles and you love drifting too? Well, you're in luck cos these two worlds just collided in one sport. Let me introduce to you, Trike Drifting. I know it sounds a bit silly. Remember the three-wheeled bikes for kids? Yes, you use those to drift. The trikes were converted and fabricated to become a bad ass three-wheeled drift machine. It's installed with slick, wide rear wheels usually made from pvc pipes.
It is powered by gravity by going downhill and combines momentum to initiate a drift.

Here are some images of a Drift Trike:

So what do you think of this bad boys? Cool isn't it? Aww I want to build one too! Oh, here's a video of Drift Trikes in action :

For more info about Drift Trikes and Trike Drifting, search the net to see tons of images and videos about this cool sport :) The images and videos used in this post belongs to their respective owners. I don not own any of these.

Look Ma, No brakes :)

I'm a biking enthusiast and I've been riding a bike for several years now. It's really a nice form of transportation because it saves a lot of money and a good exercise for the body. Okay, let's make it short. I created this post to share with you a specific kind of bike which I'm planning to build.
Have you ever heard of Fixed-Gear Bicycles? or commonly called as a "fixie". A fixie is a bike which has only a single speed and has no freewheel because the pedals are constantly moving when the bike is in motion. A good example of a Fixie is the bicycles used in Olympics inside the Velodrome.  The Fixie has no brakes. So, how do you stop it? The only form that you can slow down or stop the bike is by countering the pedals motion in order to slow down or make a skid. It's easier to brake the fixie when you use clipless pedals to pull the pedals while reducing the weight distribution on the rear wheel.

Fixed-gear bicycles has been around for ages. I think it's the basic and first structure of a bicycle before the ones with freewheel and shifters. But recently, it's popularity are rising especially on urban areas.
I like how minimalist the design of modern fixies these days with a mix of stylish and playful colors. It's been widely known that fixies are often used by Bike messengers in New York and hipsters in cities.

Here's an example of a modern fixie with stylish minimalist design with playful colors:

Oh, speaking of bicycles. Have you watched the movie Premium Rush? Starring Joseph Gordon Levitt It's just been released recently. It's a must watch for avid bikers/cyclists. Get ready to see some awesome, adrenaline-pumping riding skills!
